ABOUT OLIVIA
Louisiana native mezzo-soprano Olivia Gray is a Miami-based vocalist who received her Master of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music (FSOM) studying with Sandra Lopez-Neill. Gray is a recipient of the Graduate Teaching Assistantship Award at FSOM. She holds a Bachelor of Music from the Mannes School of Music in New York City. Performances within the past year include: Baker’s Wife and Jack’s Mom in Sondheim’s Into the Woods and Margot and Chorus in Lehar’s The Merry Widow with Opera in the Ozarks, alto soloist for Rossini’s Stabat Mater with St. Louis Cathedral Choir and Orchestra, creating the role of Sérannes in Shilt’s new opera Julie at FSOM, the role of Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte at the Miami Music Festival (MMF), Octavian from Der Rosenkavalier in student-directed scenes with FSOM, and Minskwoman in Dove’s Flight with Frost Opera Theater (FOT), in which she was praised for her "radiant middle register" by South Florida Classical Review. In addition, Gray presented her Master’s recital in Spring 2025. Further past roles include Olga Olsen in Street Scene with FOT, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro at Trentino Music Festival, and Mrs. Herring in Albert Herring at MMF.
